GOLD COAST LEAGUE | Round 10 results - Carrara refuse to back down

With the Gold Coast Pennant winding down ahead of the Christmas break, Carrara made sure to put its best foot forward to finish the 2020 year on a strong note across its matches. 

OPEN - Carrara (2)
CARRARA (2) defeated LABRADOR (1) 16-8
Carrara kept its top four chances alive with an impressive win at home to Labrador. Micheael Betts recovered from a first game loss to power home to a 3-1 win over Nick Laver in impressive fashion.
Dale Robbins started strongly against Craig Bowden to lead by 2-0. Craig edged ahead in the third to win 15-13 and carried the game into a fifth. Dale powered home in the decider to finish his year on a high.
Steve Smith started well against Hamish Rutherford before winning in four. Rob Thomson lost the first game in remarkable fashion against Robert Free before going down in four.

Carrara made a statement to the competition with an impressive win over Southport. Darren Olsen, Zach Featherstone and Anthony Freeman recorded impressive four set wins while Peter Thompson was competitive in his four set loss. Carrara heads into the break with tremendous confidence.

Carrara is back on the winners' list after an outstanding win over Southport at home. Ian Brosnan started slowly before being competitive in his match. He bounced out of the blocks to record an outstanding win over Troy Kemp in his second match, as quality players like him tend to back up well. 
After an extraordinary performance the previous week in a losing effort, Jamie Dunbar stormed out of the blocks to power home to a three love win, the only player to do so for Carrara across all grades (excluding C1 and C4 results who are currently not updated). Eric lost the opening two games before recovering to take it to a fifth where he lost 15-7.

After tasting victory for the first time of the season last week, Carrara were brought down to earth against a power-house Nerang team. Hayan Kim was the shining light yet again when she won her third consecutive match to take down Pat Siciliano in her fourth five-setter this year.
