2023 WA Squash Term 2 Junior Pennants Sign Up
About
Registrations for Term 2 2023 pennants are now open!
Division 1 players will again play a round of doubles (3 games per match), then a round of normal pennants (PAR 11, best of 3) each week.
Division 2 players will play two rounds of pennants (PAR 11, best of 3) each week.
There will be five rounds on Sunday mornings (9.30am - 11.30am).
Exact dates are 30 April (Mirrabooka), 14 May (Blue Gum), 11 June (Marmion), 18 June (Cambridge) and 25 June (Belmont).
The cost is $40 per player, and the minimum commitment we require is 4 out of the 5 weeks.
We are also accepting registrations for RESERVE players that are unable to commit to the full 5 week series - just let us know what dates you CAN make in the notes field (or send an email to ). There will be no cost to register, however we will ask for $8 on the days you come in, just to help cover costs.
Term 2 Junior Pennant Rules
1. All matches will be played following the Official Rules for squash authorised by WSF, UNLESS stipulated by WA Squash. Modifications are allowed for players who are struggling to serve. A single dot or blue dot may be used.
2. All juniors must always follow the 8 True Sport values. It is not okay for juniors to be hitting their racquets against the wall, shouting out, or displaying poor sportsmanship.
3. The junior who is 'refereeing' the match has the final say on any outcome during the match, unless stipulated by WA Squash. Parents are to encourage players to do the refereeing and marking, and not override or argue with any decisions made. Juniors need to learn how to do these jobs themselves without added pressure.
4. Matches to be played using PAR, best of 3.
5. Teams will be awarded one team point for each match won in the competition - there are no additional points awarded for how many games are won, or how many points are gained during the match.
