This will be the 6th Orkney Open which in its short history has acquired a reputation as a friendly event with a fine mix of local and visiting players. Highlands and Islands' club players are always well represented and we can usually count on at least some representation from down south. The final tournament format will be decided once we see the entry, but everyone should get a few games. April should be a reasonable month for travel to Orkney and players should be prepared to arrive on Friday evening for a full day's play on Saturday with final rounds on Sunday finishing around lunchtime to allow for travel from the islands. The entry fee of £15 for adults and £10 for juniors will be collected just prior to the event, not through SportyHQ. Spring is a great time to visit Orkney.
