Leinster Squash Senior League

League Rules & Changes

Leinster Squash reviewed league rules following the 2023/24 season and have made amendments in a number of key areas. All team captains should be familiar with the league rules below

Leinster Squash League & Cup Rules

Rule Change Summary

  • Each player is now being assigned a minimum division where they are eligible to play at - this is set during your clubs ranking submission at the start of the season
  • PAR to 15 scoring to replace PAS to 9 scoring wherever used (eg Mens Div 4 and Div6, Womens Div1/2, Sat League )
  • Ranking dates reduced from 3 to 2 (Pre cup ranking has been removed)
  • Floating subs being introduced - these are players whose own club is not fielding a team at their playing level but would like to make themselves available to play for other clubs who are short of available players.
  • Squash Ball Rules changes: 2 new balls to be provided by home team
  • Default ball to change to single yellow dot for Womens Div1/2, Mens Div 6, and Sat league (players can agree however to use any ball if preferred)
  • Bonus point being introduced for teams fielding full line-up
  • Mens Division 1 moving from Monday to Tuesday evenings
  • Eligibility for Cup to be decreased from 4 to 2 appearances during regular league

Sportyhq Usage

  • The SportyHQ ScoreSquash App should be used for scoring all matches. This will record match results automatically as well as streaming a live feed to scores to the league homepage.
  • As per section 2.6 of league rules, the winning bonus point will only be awarded where full scores are fully submitted on Sportyhq by 11am the following day (you should be using the Scoresquash app though to score matches, in which case results will be posted automatically!)
  • Captains must set their team lineups on Sportyhq in advance of each match - this can done via the Match schedule section on your team hompage->Set Lineup

Also new this year
  • League matches will be live streamed from venues with on-court cameras (currently LCC Squash and Mount Pleasant) - more details to follow on this.
